Tychy opened the scoring at 11:00 when Henri Knuutinen converted from Alan Lyszczarczyk, giving the visitors a 0-1 edge after the first period. Plzeň responded at 34:00 as Danny Katic finished off Christophe Lalancette to level at 1-1, before Rohlik found the winner at 52:00 with Jakub Jerabek drawing the assist.
Plzeň's push after the first intermission proved decisive, as they outscored GKS Tychy 2-0 in the final two periods to secure the result in regulation.
