Adler Mannheim took the extra point past GKS Tychy, 4-4 after 60 minutes and scoreless overtime, before winning the shootout 1-0. Three times Mannheim led; three times Tychy answered, and only the skills competition separated them.
Brooks Macek (6', Marc Michaelis) and Tom Kuhnhackl (8', Lennard Nieleck) put the hosts up 2-0 before Bartłomiej Jeziorski replied at 14 for 2-1 after 20. Leevi Viitala tied it at 23, Luke Esposito restored the lead at 26, and Alan Lyszczarczyk made it 3-3 at 29. Nicolas Mattinen's goal at 53, from Esposito, looked decisive until Mateusz Bryk struck at 55 for 4-4.
Valtteri Kakkonen assisted on two Tychy goals, Jeziorski had a goal and an assist, and Esposito finished with a goal and a helper for Mannheim. With neither side scoring in overtime, the shootout 1-0 was the only margin on the night.
