Nahki Wells finished off Jayden Luker's assist in the 43rd minute. Benedict Benagr made it 2-0 in the 59th and Gideon Kodua added a third in the 78th. Gillingham's Zane Albarus and Shayden Morris were both booked.
The scoreline reflected a one-sided contest: Luton had 11 shots on target to Gillingham's two, and the home keeper made eight saves. Luton also created five big chances and scored three of them, while Gillingham failed to carve out a single big chance.
