Genève-Servette HC beat Eisbären Berlin 6-2 in regulation, putting the game away with a three-goal third period. After Berlin erased an early two-goal deficit, the home side regained control late in the middle frame and never looked back.
Genève-Servette opened with a quick burst: Vili Saarijärvi scored at 3 from Jesse Puljujarvi, and Markus Granlund made it 2-0 at 5 with help from Simon Le Coultre. Gabriel Fontaine pulled Berlin within one at 19, and Ty Ronning tied it at 31 before Sakari Manninen put Genève-Servette back ahead at 40, making it 3-2 through two periods. Granlund then scored again at 49, Jimmy Vesey added one at 54, and Noha Rod closed it out at 58, with Puljujarvi assisting on the final two goals.
Markus Granlund drove the win with two goals and an assist, while Jesse Puljujarvi finished with three assists. The decisive third period produced a 3-0 edge as Genève-Servette clamped down after the score had been tied at 2-2 early in the second.
