In the first set Schoenhaus broke in game six at 4-2, but Ganesan hit straight back in game seven at 4-3 to level, and the set went to a tiebreak that Schoenhaus won. The second set stayed on serve until game nine, when Schoenhaus broke at 5-4 to finish the match without needing another tiebreak.
