Frölunda HC erased an early SaiPa goal with three first-period strikes and rolled to a 6-1 regulation win in the Champions Hockey League. Patrik Siikanen's 3:00 opener gave the visitors hope, but the home side had full control by the first intermission.
Siikanen scored from Petrus Palmu to make it 0-1, but Max Westergard tied it at 6:00 off Linus Nässén. Bosse Meijer and Samuel Fagemo then struck at 12:00 and 13:00 to push Frölunda to 3-1. Nicklas Lasu added a fourth at 27:00 from Westergard, Nässén made it 5-1 unassisted at 28:00, and Frölunda added one more in the third.
Westergard and Nässén each finished with a goal and an assist, the only multi-point players in a balanced forward effort. SaiPa did not score again after Siikanen's opener.
