Alexander Zverev powered past Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 at Wimbledon, relying on a dominant serve and clinical break-point play. The German saved all four break points he faced while converting all four of his own opportunities, never allowing Fritz to gain a foothold.
The opening set turned on a single break in the third game, Zverev leading 2-1 and holding to go up 3-1. He served out the set without facing a break point. The second set followed a similar pattern: Zverev broke at 5-4 to take a two-set lead. In the third, he broke twice — at 2-1 and again at 4-1 — and cruised to the finish.
Zverev’s first serve was a weapon, landing 78% of them and winning 74% of those points. He also won 57% of points on Fritz’s second serve, consistently putting the American under pressure.
