SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers erased a two-goal first-period deficit to beat Fribourg-Gotteron 3-2 in regulation. Three unanswered goals, one in each frame after the opening 20 minutes, did it.
Sandro Schmid had Fribourg ahead twice inside the first period, at 7 with Jan Dorthe feeding him and again at 14 off Ludvig Johnson for 0-2. Tyler Moy cut it to 1-2 at the 20-minute mark on a Tanner Fritz setup, and Nicklas Jensen tied it a minute later, assisted by Victor Rask, which was the turn. Gian Marco Wetter scored unassisted at 48 for the 3-2 that held.
Schmid's two goals were the only multi-goal night in the game and still came out on the losing side. The Lakers' 2-0 edge over the final two periods, after trailing 1-2 through one, is the number that decided it.
