Fribourg-Gotteron took a 4-3 overtime decision from the SC Langnau Tigers, the winner coming at 65 minutes after the visitors had forced the extra period with a goal at the horn. It was a game Fribourg led twice in the second half of regulation and never quite put away.
Juuso Riikola opened the scoring at 16 for Langnau, assisted by Saku Maenalanen, and the Tigers carried that 0-1 edge into the first intermission. Fribourg then scored twice at the 40-minute mark through Yannick Rathgeb and Nathan Marchon, both set up by Marcus Sorensen, for a 2-1 lead after two. Jerome Bachofner tied it at 45, Jan Dorthe restored the lead at 53 off a Jonas Taibel feed, and Emil Pettersson made it 3-3 at 60.
Sorensen was the difference-maker on the scoresheet with both assists on the second-period pair that turned the game. Fribourg scored four of their goals across the final 26 minutes and overtime, three of them in a stretch where every Langnau answer was matched.
