Botafogo and Fluminense shared the points in an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Brasileiro Série A. Alex Telles fired the hosts into a lead just before the break, but Fluminense levelled early in the second half through Ignácio.
Alex Telles made the breakthrough in the 44th minute, giving Botafogo a half-time advantage. Fluminense responded in the 58th minute when Ignácio converted Kevin Serna's assist to make it 1-1. Marçal was sent off, but Fluminense held on for a share of the spoils.
Botafogo had the better of the shooting, racking up 20 efforts to Fluminense's 14, with seven on target to four. Fluminense, though, dominated the ball with 59% possession and made 409 accurate passes to Botafogo's 273. The draw was a fair outcome, with both sides having their moments.
