Athletico rescued a point with a stoppage-time equaliser in a 3-3 thriller against Fluminense. Kevin Viveros struck in the 90th minute to cancel out Ignácio's 78th-minute goal that had put the visitors ahead.
Leonardo Caetano Silva opened the scoring for Athletico after 35 minutes, with Stiven Mendoza providing the assist, but Hulk levelled within three minutes. Gastón Benavídez restored Athletico's lead early in the second half only for Agustín Canobbio to equalise again, and Ignácio made it 3-2 from Hulk's assist before Viveros' late response.
Athletico had far the better of the chances, registering 17 shots to Fluminense's 12 and an expected-goals count of 1.92 to 0.56, yet needed a 90th-minute goal to avoid defeat. Viveros, booked in the 80th minute, was the late hero for the home side.
