Lino opened the scoring in the 13th minute from Jorginho's pass. The score stayed 1-0 until the 86th, when Lino finished from Jorge Carrascal's assist, and Carrascal added a third in the 90th from Everton's delivery.
Samuel Lino was the standout with a brace, while Flamengo's 18 shots and expected-goals total of 1.70 underlined their edge. Botafogo did muster 14 shots of their own and forced four saves, but never seriously tested the lead.
