Roma beat Fiorentina 4-0 in Serie A, with Donyell Malen providing the decisive contribution. The forward scored three times before Niccolò Pisilli added a fourth in the closing stages.
Malen put Roma ahead on 27 minutes with Paulo Dybala providing the assist. He made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute and completed his hat-trick in the 60th, again from Dybala's pass, before Pisilli struck in the 86th. The four yellow cards – to Nicolò Fagioli, Mario Hermoso, Manu Koné and Mateo Pellegrino – never changed the shape of the match.
The margin reflected the balance of play. Roma had 61% possession, 17 shots to nine and an expected-goals figure of 2.72 to Fiorentina's 0.27; they also created five big chances to the visitors' none. Malen's hat-trick was the headline, but this was a team performance built on sustained control.
