Figueirense recovered from an early setback to beat Maranhão 2-1 in Brasileiro Série C. Emerson was the difference, scoring twice to turn the match around.
Maranhão struck first through Rosivan in the third minute, with Luis Gustavo providing the assist. Figueirense levelled on 18 minutes when Emerson finished from Dudu Feitoza's pass. Emerson then grabbed his second and the winner in the 83rd minute.
Emerson's brace, including the decisive late goal, settled the contest. Maranhão's early lead gave them little reward, and Figueirense took the points.
