Ferro F. swept past Hodžić M. 6-2, 6-0 to open her WTA 125K Palermo campaign with a dominant straight-sets victory. The Frenchwoman never faced a break point she couldn't save, converting four of her five break chances while saving all four break points against her.
The first set saw Ferro break at 4-2 and again in the final game to close it out 6-2. She carried that momentum into the second set, breaking Hodžić at 2-0, 4-0 and 6-0 to seal a bagel. Hodžić struggled to make an impact on serve, winning just 12 of 31 service points across the match.
Ferro finished with a 100% break-point save rate (4/4) and won nine consecutive games from 4-2 in the first set to the end of the match. Her first-serve percentage of 80% (44/55) proved decisive, as she never allowed Hodžić to build any rhythm.
