Fernandez broke in games four and six to lead 1-3 and 1-5, closing the first set 6-1. In the second she broke immediately for 0-1 and again for 0-3; Andreeva got one break back at 3-5 and held to trail 4-5, but Fernandez served out the match.
Fernandez won 88% of points behind her first serve despite recording no aces, and outpointed Andreeva 58-43. Andreeva hit four aces but could not protect her serve often enough.
