Aznaurov's strike put Rostov ahead with 15 minutes remaining. Ten minutes later, Danila Prokhin doubled the lead, turning in Timur Suleymanov's assist to seal the win. The only booking of the afternoon came on 56 minutes, when Dzhamalutdin Abdulkadyrov was shown a yellow card.
Rostov kept their shape and took their two chances when they mattered, while CSKA were unable to find a response. The late double proved decisive, and the home side progressed without needing any further drama.
