Mads Bech Sørensen opened the scoring in the 26th minute, but Magnus Jensen levelled within 60 seconds. Valdemar Byskov restored the lead on 35 minutes, only for Mohamed Haidara to equalise again just before half-time. Julius Emefile’s 66th-minute strike proved the winner.
SønderjyskE dominated the stats—more total shots, higher expected goals (1.28 to 0.68), and three big chances to none—but could only convert twice. Midtjylland, with 59% possession and four shots on target, took their chances more ruthlessly.
