FC Drita snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Floriana FC with two goals in the final minutes. The Kosovan side looked set for defeat after trailing for most of the match, but a spirited late comeback turned the tie on its head.
Floriana took the lead in the 40th minute when Paul Mbong finished from Fede Varela’s assist, making it 0-1 at half-time. Drita struggled to break down the Maltese defence until the 88th minute, when Jorgo Pëllumbi equalised after a Raddy Ovouka pass. Just three minutes later, in the first minute of stoppage time, Kauan struck the winner, again set up by Ovouka.
The quickfire turnaround was the defining feature of the contest, with Drita’s persistence rewarded deep into added time. Raddy Ovouka provided both assists in the comeback, while the match was also notable for a flurry of bookings – eleven yellow cards were shown in total.
