FC Dallas edged Real Salt Lake 3-4 in a seven-goal MLS thriller, surviving a stirring Salt Lake comeback. Joaquin Valiente and Petar Musa gave Dallas a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes, and although the hosts levelled at 3-3 on 64 minutes, a 90th-minute goal settled it.
Valiente opened the scoring on 16, and Musa doubled the lead four minutes later. Sergi Solans replied for Salt Lake on 38, but Musa struck again on the stroke of half-time to make it 1-3. Morgan Guilavogui and Diego Luna hauled the home side level by the 64th minute, only for Dallas to win it with a 90th-minute goal.
Salt Lake controlled possession (59%) and had the better of the shots (14-13), but Dallas were more clinical, posting a higher expected-goals figure (1.92-1.67) and converting their late chance. The home side missed five big chances, while Dallas' goalkeeper made four saves. Those numbers tell the story of a side that dominated without taking its opportunities.
