Elimai FC and FC Alashkert played out a staggering 7-8 draw in the UEFA Europa Conference League, a match that included a penalty shootout after a 2-2 deadlock in regular and extra time. The extraordinary scoreline came from a bout of 11 penalties in the shootout, with both sides converting almost all of their efforts.
Momo Fanyé Touré gave Alashkert an early lead before Akmal Bakhtiyarov equalised. Hrvoje Ilić put Elimai ahead in the 96th minute, but Higor Gabriel Fernandes Alves levelled in the 120th minute to force penalties. From the spot, Cézar Henrique, Jefferson Granado, Daouda Togola, and Arsen Sadoyan all scored for Alashkert, while Marin Belančić, Arsen Ashirbek, and Roger Murillo replied for Elimai.
The shootout saw 15 penalties taken in total, with both teams showing remarkable composure from the spot. Despite Alashkert scoring one more penalty than Elimai, the match was recorded as a draw, leaving the tie unresolved.
