Etcheverry broke early in the first set, going up 2-1 and then 4-1, winning five consecutive games on the way to a 6-2 win. The second set was more competitive: Buse broke first at 2-4 (game 6), but Etcheverry immediately broke back at 4-5 (game 9) and then again at 6-5 (game 11) to close out the match.
