Estudiantes de La Plata beat Defensa y Justicia 3-0 in the Superliga after an efficient first-half display. Guido Carrillo opened the scoring after nine minutes and the home side seized control early.
Ezequiel Piovi doubled the lead in the 16th minute after Tiago Palacios set him up, and Tiago Tomás Palacios added a third in the 36th minute with Carrillo providing the assist. The early goals left Defensa y Justicia with too much to do.
Defensa had the greater share of possession, 59%, and more total shots, 20 to 15, but Estudiantes created seven big chances. The home goalkeeper made eight saves to keep the 3-0 margin intact.
