HC Ajoie took it 4-3 in overtime, salvaging a night that had slipped away twice in the third period. The hosts were down 2-3 with four minutes left in regulation and still found a way to force the extra session.
Gael Christe opened it in the fourth minute off a Daniel Carr feed, and Petteri Puhakka answered at the 20th, assisted by Arttu Ruotsalainen, for a 1-1 first period. A scoreless middle frame gave way to a four-goal third: Raphael Prassl put Kloten ahead at 44 (Elia Livio Liniger), Kyen Sopa tied it a minute later on a Jeremy Wick setup, Kloten went back in front at 56, and Ajoie leveled at 3-3 in the 59th before winning it in overtime.
The line score tells the story: 1-1 through one, still 1-1 after 40 minutes, then four goals in the third and the decider in the extra period. Sopa's 45th-minute equalizer was the pivot point, and Christe's early opener remained the only goal of the first 19 minutes.
