EHC Chur handled EHC Arosa 5-1 in regulation, and the middle period settled it. Chur won the second 3-1 to move from a one-goal lead to 4-1, and never gave the margin back.
Matej Pekar opened it in the 9th minute off a Sandis Smons feed for 1-0 after 20. Niclas Rentsch (29th, Mike Aeschlimann) and Robin Ramsauer (33rd, Smons again) pushed it to 3-0, and when Soren Aebi answered in the 34th off Darren Boss, Kimo Bont restored the cushion four minutes later at 4-1. Timo Jenni's 49th-minute finish, assisted by Vincent Despont, closed the 1-0 third.
Smons was the connective tissue with two assists on the first and third Chur goals, while Pekar finished with a goal and the helper on Bont's marker. Six different Chur names appear on the scoresheet as scorers or assist men across the five goals.
