Dinamo Minsk took it 4-1 in regulation, and the margin was built entirely in a three-goal second period. After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, Minsk scored three times in the middle frame and never gave the lead back.
Sergey Kalinin opened it at 25 minutes off a Bogdan Belkin feed, then Daniil Lipsky made it 2-0 at 38 with Ilya Usov assisting. Nicolas Aube-Kubel struck a minute later, at 39, off Chris Tierney to make it 3-0 after two, and his second at 47, assisted by Stanislav Galiev, put it out of reach at 4-0.
Aube-Kubel was the difference with two goals, the second pair of them coming eight minutes apart across the second and third periods. Sibir finally got on the board at 54, but by then the third period was split 1-1 and the result was settled.
