Díaz Acosta beat Prado Angelo 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in the San Marino Men Singles, recovering from a second-set loss to close out in three. He took control with his first serve, putting 71% in and winning 64% of those points; Prado Angelo landed 52% and won 54%.
Díaz Acosta went up by breaks at 3-1 and 5-1 in the opening set, and although Prado Angelo pulled one break back at 5-2, Díaz Acosta sealed it 6-2. Prado Angelo then turned the second set around, breaking at 4-3 and 4-5 after Díaz Acosta had moved ahead 4-2, to win it 6-4. The decider followed a similar pattern to the first set: Díaz Acosta broke at 3-1 and 5-1 and closed out 6-1.
The standout number was Díaz Acosta's work under pressure: he saved 11 of 14 break points (78%) and converted five break points, while Prado Angelo saved 6 of 11. Díaz Acosta also finished ahead in total points, 81 to 72.
