Fuele M. rallied from a set down to defeat Dellien H. 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Cordenons Italy Men Singles, capitalising on a dominant serving performance in the deciding set. After dropping the opener, Fuele turned the match around by breaking Dellien twice in the third to seal the comeback.
Dellien broke twice in the first set, at 1-0 and 4-1, to take it 6-2. Fuele responded in the second set, breaking for 4-2 and holding serve to level. The decider featured three breaks: Fuele struck first to lead 1-0, Dellien levelled at 2-2, but Fuele broke again immediately for 3-2 and held on to close out the win.
Fuele’s first serve was decisive in the final set, where he won 13 of 18 first-serve points (72%) compared to Dellien’s 7 of 16 (44%). He also saved two of three break points faced in the decider, while converting two of his own three chances.
