Libertad edged past Delfín 1-0 in Serie A, with Orlin Quinonez scoring the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute. The hosts took their chance when it came, while Delfín rued a string of missed opportunities.
The goal arrived when Gabriel Cortez slipped a pass through for Quinonez, who finished calmly. Delfín had earlier wasted several big chances, including four that went begging, and could not find a way past the Libertad defence.
Delfín actually created more big chances – four to Libertad's two – but failed to convert any, while Libertad's goalkeeper made three saves. The hosts had 15 total shots, seven on target, compared to Delfín's 14 shots with only three on target.
