Degerfors IF beat Halmstads BK 2-0 in Allsvenskan, but the win was not settled until late. Degerfors controlled much of the play before Ludvig Fritzson struck in the 76th minute.
Fritzson scored the opener from Dijan Vukojevic's assist, and Nahom Girmai made sure of the points in the 88th minute after Elias Barsoum's pass. Tom Trybull was booked in the 25th minute, while Vukojevic and Samba Diatara were also shown yellows after the interval.
The statistics underline Degerfors' edge: they finished with 19 shots to Halmstads' 11, 12 corners to three and 52% possession. Halmstads kept it close until the final stages, forcing three saves from the Degerfors goalkeeper, but their big chance went astray as Degerfors made the decisive breakthrough.
