Defensa y Justicia took the points with a 2-1 win at Belgrano, racing into a two-goal lead before holding off a late surge. The visitors were far less busy in possession but made their chances count, scoring twice from three shots on target.
César Pérez got the opener in the 12th minute, converting Juan Manuel Gutiérrez's assist, and Damián Fernández doubled the lead early in the second half, in the 47th minute. Belgrano pulled one back through Ramiro Hernandes in the 59th minute, assisted by Lucas Passerini, but could not force an equaliser.
The numbers show Belgrano dominated the ball with 68% possession and fired in 25 shots to Defensa's nine, yet the visitors were clinical. Defensa scored both of their big chances and left with the win, while Belgrano missed one of their two big chances and had four of their six shots on target saved.
