Cui broke first in the opening set, at 3-2 in game five, but Zhou hit straight back at 4-4 in game eight and then took the tiebreak. Cui had four break points in the second set and converted none, while Zhou broke immediately in the opening game, at 0-1, and protected the lead from there.
