CSM Slatina left with all three points after a 2-1 victory away to CSA Steaua București in Liga 2. Mario Bărăitaru scored twice to decide the contest, and Slatina held on after Steaua had briefly levelled.
Bărăitaru put Slatina ahead in the 44th minute, sending the away side into half-time with a 1-0 lead. Alexandru Dinu equalised for Steaua in the 52nd minute, but Bărăitaru struck again in the 66th to restore Slatina's advantage, and that proved to be the winning goal.
Bărăitaru was the match-winner with his brace, the difference in a game where neither side's wider numbers are available to compare. Slatina took their chances when they mattered and closed out the result.
