Cliftonville took the derby honours with a 2-1 win over Crusaders in the Premiership. Two goals either side of half-time gave them control, and although Crusaders struck late, the home side had already done enough.
Ben Quinn opened the scoring in the 11th minute to make it 1-0, and Dean McMaster doubled the lead in the 62nd. Crusaders grabbed a goal back in the 90th minute to set up a tense finish, but Cliftonville held on.
The result was built on that two-goal cushion rather than any box-score edge, with Cliftonville's early and second-half strikes proving decisive. Crusaders' late reply came too late to change the outcome.
