Kylie Cross beat Maryna Nozdrachova 6-1, 6-0 at the WTA 125K in Caldas da Rainha, dropping just one game thanks to total control on both serve and return. Cross held all five of her service games, landed 86% of her first serves and won 76% of those points, while Nozdrachova held only once.
Nozdrachova was broken in game three at 1-2 and again in game five at 1-4, and a third break in game seven closed the opening set. The second set followed the same pattern, with breaks in games two, four and six, at 0-2, 0-4 and 0-6, as Cross reeled off nine games in a row across the match.
The serve numbers tell it: Nozdrachova won just 5 of 19 points behind her first delivery and nine service points in total, against 21 for Cross, who saved both break points she faced and converted four of her own.
