Katie Collins beat Elena Yashina 6-2, 6-2 at the WTA 125K in Caldas da Rainha, breaking serve five times to her opponent's two. The difference was first-serve efficiency: Collins won 24 of 37 points behind her first delivery (65%), while Yashina managed just 11 of 30 (37%).
Yashina broke in the opening game of the match to lead 1-0, but Collins broke straight back for 1-1 and took control, adding breaks at 2-4 and 2-6 to close the set with four games in a row. The second set followed the same pattern: Collins broke for 1-3, Yashina hit back immediately at 2-3, and then Collins broke twice more, at 2-4 and 2-6, to finish it.
The standout number is break-point resistance. Collins saved six of eight break points (75%), including six of seven in the second set despite three double faults there, while Yashina saved only three of eight and held just two of her seven service games.
