Club Tijuana edged out Club León 1-0 in a tight Apertura contest. The winning goal came from Gilberto Mora just after half-time, and Tijuana held on despite seeing much less of the ball.
The only goal arrived in the 53rd minute when Gilberto Mora found the net for the home side. León dominated possession with 61%, but could not find a way past Tijuana's defence. Daniel Arcila and Bryan Colula were both booked in the first half.
Despite having only 39% possession, Tijuana created the better chances – their expected goals of 1.93 dwarfed León's 0.80, and they converted one of their three big chances. The visitors had 11 shots but only two on target, with Tijuana's goalkeeper making two saves.
