Pumas UNAM came from behind to draw 1-1 with Club Necaxa in the Primera Division Apertura. Julián Carranza put the visitors ahead, but Herrera Luciano struck in the 88th minute to earn the home side a point.
Necaxa broke the deadlock on 76 minutes, Carranza converting after Miguel Rodriguez's assist. The response took until the closing stages, with Herrera Luciano equalising from Guillermo Martínez's assist to make it 1-1. Pedro Vite was booked in the first half, and Ricardo Monreal, Israel Luna and Miguel Rodriguez were all shown yellow cards in the 90th minute.
The numbers pointed to a tight contest: Pumas had 21 shots to Necaxa's 15, with four shots on target for each side. Necaxa's expected-goals mark was 1.49 against 1.14, showing they created the clearer chances, yet Pumas' late equaliser meant the sides left with a draw. Both teams had one big chance scored, with Pumas creating two big chances to Necaxa's one.
