Club León beat Club Necaxa 2-1 in the Primera Division Apertura, thanks to goals from Daniel Arcila and Juan Domínguez. Necaxa equalised through Matías Espíndola, but León's second-half winner settled the contest.
Arcila put León ahead in the 27th minute from Fernando Beltran's assist. Rodrigo Echeverría was sent off on the hour, and Espíndola brought Necaxa level in the 65th minute after a Juan Valencia pass. León responded seven minutes later, Juan Domínguez finishing Luis Valadez's delivery to make it 2-1.
The statistics show Necaxa dominated territory: 61% possession and 24 shots to León's 16. Yet León had four big chances to Necaxa's one, and León's goalkeeper made seven saves to Necaxa's five, underlining a clinical edge.
