Fleetwood Town claimed a 1-0 win at Chesterfield in League Two, with Ched Evans scoring the only goal of the game in the 35th minute. Chesterfield had far more of the ball but could not turn their dominance into goals.
Evans put Fleetwood ahead just after the half-hour mark, and the visitors held on through a scrappy, card-filled contest. Kyle McFadzean was booked in the 28th minute, Evans himself followed two minutes later, Rafaele Cirino was carded in the 45th minute and Harrison Neal late on.
The stats show Chesterfield's control: 66% possession, 15 shots and 409 accurate passes. Fleetwood, though, were far more clinical, putting seven of their 14 shots on target while Chesterfield managed only three, and Fleetwood's goalkeeper made six saves to protect the narrow lead.
