West Bromwich Albion were held to a 1-1 draw by Charlton Athletic at The Hawthorns, despite dominating the ball from start to finish. Albion took the lead through Callum Styles just before the hour, but Charlton hit back ten minutes later to snatch a point.
Styles broke the deadlock in the 59th minute to make it 1-0, giving Albion a lead their territory had merited. Tyreece Campbell equalised for Charlton in the 69th minute, and Tyler Bindon went into the book for the visitors in the 77th as they dug in for the draw.
The stats underlined Albion's control – 71% possession, 15 shots to four, 639 accurate passes to 213 – but they managed only 0.57 expected goals and were undone by one Charlton chance. Charlton had just 29% of the ball and a single shot on target, yet took their one big chance to leave with a share of the spoils.
