SC Oțelul Galați came from behind to take all three points against CFR 1907 Cluj in a gripping Liga I contest. João Lameira’s early strike gave the hosts the lead before Andrei Cordea levelled just before the hour, but Patrick Fernandes’ late winner settled it.
João Lameira put Oțelul ahead after four minutes, converting Pedro Nuno’s assist. CFR Cluj responded through Andrei Cordea in the 58th minute, set up by Andres Sfait. The game looked to be heading for a draw until Patrick Fernandes struck with four minutes left, again from a Pedro Nuno pass.
Oțelul created far the better chances—seven big chances to Cluj’s none—and converted two of them. Despite having less possession (46%) and fewer accurate passes (289 to 364), they took their opportunities when it mattered. Both keepers made three saves each.
