Raphael Collignon rallied from a set down to beat Juan Manuel Cerundolo 1-6, 7-6, 7-5 in Gstaad, winning the decisive set with two late breaks after trailing by a break. Collignon lost the first set as Cerundolo dominated his serve, converting two break points, but the Belgian found a way back by winning a second-set tiebreak.
Cerundolo opened with breaks at 1-3 and 1-5 to take the first set 6-1. He broke again at 1-2 in the second, but Collignon levelled by breaking at 5-5 and took the tiebreak to force a decider. In the third, Cerundolo struck first at 2-4, but Collignon replied immediately at 4-5, then broke again at 6-5 to close out the match.
Collignon saved four of eight break points (50%) across the match and converted two of five chances, while Cerundolo saved three of five. Despite hitting only five aces to Cerundolo's seven and winning just 69% of his service games against Cerundolo's 87%, Collignon's clutch returning in the final set proved decisive.
