Matyas Cerny beat Filip Misolic 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in Szczecin, edging a match that was level on almost every serving measure. Cerny won 51 service points to Misolic's 51 and both men converted five break points, but the Czech kept his second serve clean and never hit a double fault across the three sets.
Misolic broke for 1-3 in the opener and again at 4-6 to take the set, despite Cerny hitting straight back for 2-3. The second set was a swap-fest, with breaks at 2-1, 2-2, 3-2 and then 5-5 before Cerny broke again at 6-5 to level the match. In the decider Misolic moved ahead by breaking at 1-3, but Cerny answered at 2-3 and broke once more at 4-3 to go clear.
