Nahuel Bustos opened the scoring in the 56th minute from Jader Obrian's pass, making it 0-1. Ángel Figueroa doubled the lead in the 77th minute, and Franco Fagúndez added a third in the 83rd minute with an assist from Alexis Zapata.
Caracas had 56% possession and 14 shots to Santa Fe's 13, but the visitors' expected goals were higher at 1.48 to 0.86. Santa Fe's goalkeeper made four saves, while Caracas' keeper made one. Luis Mago and Emanuel Olivera were booked late on.
