Thionville Lusitanos came from two goals down to beat Caen 4-3 in National 1. Caen made a flying start, but Thionville’s second-half response turned the match around.
Fahd El Khoumisti put Caen ahead in the 15th minute and Mohamed Hafid doubled the lead two minutes later. Karim Bouhmidi pulled one back for Thionville in the 22nd minute, and Muamer Aljic equalised in the 54th. Fadel Gobitaka made it 3-2 in the 64th and Bouhmidi added a fourth in the 68th before Armand Gnanduillet’s 89th-minute goal for Caen set up a tense finish.
Bouhmidi’s brace was the key contribution as Thionville scored three times after the break. Caen’s late rally was not enough, and Zoumana Bagbema was sent off in the 83rd minute after a second yellow card.
