Blackburn Rovers came from behind to beat Burton Albion 2-1 in the EFL Cup first round. Burton took the lead through Zac Scutt in the 14th minute, but Blackburn's pressure told late on.
Scutt's goal put Burton ahead and they held that advantage until the 81st minute, when Andri Guðjohnsen equalised, Todd Cantwell providing the assist. Jayden Fevrier then turned the tie around with a goal two minutes from time, Ryan Alebiosu the provider.
Blackburn dominated the contest, with 63% possession and 26 shots to Burton's 16, yet they needed late goals to progress. Both sides had a man booked in the first half – Finn Delap and Cantwell – before Matthew Dennis was also yellow-carded after the break.
