Romero Gormaz L. defeated Bulgaru M. 6-3, 6-3 at the Bastad tournament, winning in straight sets through superior serve dominance and break-point conversion. She saved 62% of break points faced overall while converting five of eight chances.
In the first set, Bulgaru broke early at the opening game but Romero responded immediately, breaking three times to take the set. The second set was tighter on serve: Romero lost serve once but saved five of six break points, converted two breaks and won four consecutive games to seal the match.
Romero’s ability to save 83% of break points in the second set (5/6) was the decisive factor, as she also doubled the ace count (3 to 0) and won 68% of first-serve points. Bulgaru, despite good first-serve percentage (71%), won only 53% of those points and struggled on second serve (31% points won).
