The first set turned in the sixth game when Bublik broke for a 4-2 lead and held to close it out. In the second set, Bublik broke immediately for 1-0, but Molčan levelled at 2-2. Bublik responded with a break for 3-2 and added another break at 5-2 to seal victory.
Bublik's 11 aces dwarfed Molčan's one, and he won 79% of first-serve points. Molčan converted just one of eight break chances, unable to sustain pressure against Bublik's aggressive returning.
