Compagnucci T. defeated Braynin A. 6-3, 7-5 at the ATP Challenger Hagen, taking the decision with a late break in set two. The winner converted three break points while Braynin converted two.
Braynin broke in game 1 of the opener, but Compagnucci levelled in game 2 and moved clear with a second break in game 6 to take the set 6-3. In the second set, Compagnucci edged ahead with a break in game 5, only for Braynin to hit straight back in game 6. The decisive moment came in game 11, when Compagnucci broke again, and he held to close out the match 7-5.
The match turned on second-serve returns: Compagnucci won 13 of 19 points (68%) on Braynin's second serve, while Braynin took just six of 19 (31%) against Compagnucci. That edge outweighed Braynin's slightly better first-serve performance (25 of 38, 66%, to 21 of 35, 60%) and helped Compagnucci edge the overall points count 60-55.
